Looking Good!

Happy Summer, everyone! It looks like there's been a lot of good activity up here. With your first deadline approaching, I want to make sure that everyone gets credit for his/her work. However, I'm finding a few of your screen names to be, well, enigmatic. So if you don't have a screen name that I'll be able to figure out easily, could you please comment here and give me your screen name and your real first name and last initial? Or send me an email?

So, who's read the new Harry Potter? I'm anxiously awaiting my copy from Amazon, so don't spoil it for me...

I've read the new Harry Potter and I loved it! It's a thrilling magical book that can't help but captivate all who venture into it. Anyone who hasn't read the series really should, (Don't be discouraged by the amount of pages in the books.) especially before reading the last since it mentions events that occurred in the previous books. I am greatly saddened that I'll no longer be able to wait in anticipation for anymore books to be released, but I think Rowling is a brilliant writer and will not let you down with this last installment, especially with the many twists and turns the book takes. Hope you all enjoy the book (and series) as much as I have!

I just finished Harry Potter today and it was so awesome!!!!!!!!!! Alisha, I can't agree with you more! All the anticipation surrounding those books was half the fun (even though the books themselves are my favorites of all time)...JK Rowling is probably one of the coolest people out there, and if I could interview one person alive it would probably be her! Hope everyone enjoys Harry, and please, don't ruin the book for other people because it's just mean! (I actually stayed off the computer and away from my TV and/or newspapers until I finished to avoid spoilers!)

I read it and balled like a small child throughout most of it. Sometimes, not even because of the context, but because it was the end to a really big part of my childhood.

I will say that J.K. Rowling is a genius and has earned major kudos in my book for the way the series ended.

I recommend it to anyone who's lived under a rock for the past however many years, and who has not read atleast one of them-They are a great way to invest your time.

Just think-next summer we won't have required reading for the most part, so what better time to read a fictional series than then?

Wow-that's all i can say. Great book, great series, great author, great climax-and greatest of all-great ending. Loved the book from beginning to end and i could hardly put it down. A must-read for everyone with an inkling of interest in literature.

I ended up having to borrow it from a friend (damn Amazon didn't get it to me until at least two - three weeks after it came out and I was so terrified it'd get spoiled) and I just sat down and read it straight through! I had tears at the end of THAT chapter, but many things I saw coming came together so well (I spotted the seventh horcrux way out and was feeling very proud when I was validated!)...very satisfied with it. I've spent a little time rereading (I reread book 6 before 7 came and then I went back and reread 5) and it's fun to go back and look at how well she set it all up...totally reinforces the idea that there are very few accidents! I'm sad it's over...
